Will you do a review of the NXZEN line and rate it with the other NC or DSP Devices?
Mike
Honestly have never heard of them. Will see if we can get them to send us a review unit.
I have a two year old 650 and am curious about updating to a Centro, 755 or waiting on an unannounced device (I am one who suffers on Sprint because of their low fee for unlimited data). I'd really like to wait for one of the Palm OS II devices but, it's looking like their release is too far away at this point. . . .
Brian
We say go Centro. It's cheap so if you get the bug when the linux devices arrive it won't cause as much pain.
Question: I have the 700WX from Sprint how do I get the podcast in to it? I am stuck on 1x speed and do not want to tie up the phone that long streaming ( calls go to voicemail when Streaming on 1x) I suscribe to I tunes but the MP3 file is huge.
Dan
For getting the podcast. There are a bunch of options. Our main suggestion is sort of callous, but it's just getting a bigger SD card and loading the mp3s onto that... there's actually a great article on how to automate podcasts on Windows at Palm Discovery by May Cheung
Also, check out the article in the TreoCentral Wiki
Non-phone audio Output not working with Bluetooth headsets. Yes, I have the Softick Audio Gateway and a Plantronics Pulsar 590A, which I never use because I want something much more discrete to wear while working. I used to listed to netcasts on a bluetooth headset all the time with my Nokia phone. I want that capability with my Treo. Do you know of a small headset, similar to the Plantronics Discovery 645, that supports the A2DP profile so that I can use Audio Gateway?
Lack of a 3.5 mm audio jack. I am tired of buying 2.5 mm to 3.5 adapters (10 so far, I think I lost a few) for all of my audio inputs. How hard can it be to put both 2.5 and 3.5 mm jacks on the phone?
Slow file deletes on my SD cards. I received a warranty replacement 700p from Sprint when my previous 700p went into a reboot cycle that even a hard reset wouldn't fix. The new 700p seems much slower deleting MP3 files in PocketTunes. It can take 10-15 seconds to delete a file. What's up with that?
I am very disappointed that the new model Treos use something other than SDHC memory cards. I base all of my portable electronics (cameras, computer file transfer) on SD memory cards, plus I carry three SDHC cards for the Treo (Music, AudioBooks, & Netcasts). I don't plan to buy another Treo until Palm comes out with something with the convenient externally accessible SDHC slot that the 700p has.
Regards,
Robert
Check out the Jabra BT8010. It does A2DP even if you don't have the "satellite" headset plugged in.
We are considering organizing a pitchfork and torches-style mob and storming the Palm HQ about the 3.5 mm jack. I can't believe they didn't do it with the "for the kids" centro. WHO'S WITH US!?
Narrowing down problems with SD cards is always a huge, huge hassle, so we definitely feel your pain. Take a look at this TreoCentral Forum Thread - you may just need to re-format your card with differently sized blocks.
SDHC: Yeah. It's a pain. Here's the deal - we'd move to microSDHC and use adapters - but we definitely admit that's a huge pain. That should be pretty futureproof (we hope). Supports SDHC: 700p, 755p, 680, Centro as long as you have the latest firmware. Treo 750 will when it gets Windows Mobile 6.
Thanks also to Janric, Dave, Jennifer, Kyle, Mel, John, Optimus Prime, and folks in the forum!
