Toolbar

RNS:: has updated its Toolbar to version 1.3!

Add new icons to the default toolbar!

With RNS:: Toolbar you can add new icons to the system toolbar (also known as command bar).
The customized toolbar / commandbar is available for all applications system-wide.
Together with the default Undo, Cut, Copy, and Paste icons, you can have the additional commands in any combination and in any order!

• Send - send selected text. You can choose means of transfer and destination.

This program sounds like it adds quite a bit of new functionality to your toolbar!! The fact that it's available system-wide is also a big plus, as I hate having to stop what I'm doing sometimes to head back to somewhere else to perform a task because it isn't readily accessible within the program/application I'm working in!

Handbrake

Handbrake has been updated to version 0.9.3!

For those of you not familiar with Handbrake, it's a multi-platform, open source (FREE) multi-thread video decoder. What does this mean? It means it will transcode your DVDs, for free! Yes, there are programs you can pay to do this job, perhaps with more functions - but, if you want to give this app a try - go for it. It is, afterall, Free!

Supported sources:

• Any DVD-like source: VIDEO_TS folder, DVD image or real DVD (unencrypted--protection methods including CSS are not supported internally and must be handled externally with third-party software and libraries), and some .VOB and .TS files
• Most any multimedia file it can get libavformat to read and libavcodec to decode.

Outputs:

• File format: MP4, MKV, AVI or OGM
• Video: MPEG-4, H.264, or Theora (1 or 2 passes or constant quantizer/rate encoding)
• Audio: AAC, MP3, Vorbis or AC-3 pass-through (supports encoding of several audio tracks)
