Conclusion

I want to remind everyone that hands free phones are not any less of a distraction than handheld phones. If driving conditions are difficult, do not add another distraction, be it handheld or hands-free phone usage.

The Jabra SP500 is a disappointment. It seems that while correcting some problems with the SP100 (difficult pairing, volume control issues, LED distractions) the folks at Jabra created many new ones. I have seen many Jabra headsets come across by desk and I am beginning to feel that Jabra have stretched themselves too thin. No less than eight Bluetooth headsets are shown on their web page. Despite my lack of business degree, I do understand about market segments, feature options and the like, but seven Bluetooth headsets and a speakerphone is just dividing things up a bit too thin. (The SP100 looks to be discontinued.)

I should note that one of my son's favorite features of the SP500 are the on and off chimes. They really are quite nice.
