A million stupid little notes. |
I've tried a million stupid little note
and alarm apps like this, and they make
me wish that Apple had written them. None
of them have even a fraction of the versatility
of the Newton note pad application... text,
images, STRUCTURED LINE DRAWINGS, and other
applets stored in a scrolling notepad like the
standard Palm notepad app.
The closest thing I've come across to this has
been TealNotes, but they don't support line drawings
that can be edited.
Come on, surely some hacker has a combo
program, notepad, calendar, and drawing.

Crash my Prism |
The dumb program kept crashing my Prism I had to do a soft reset every time I used the "popup" hack.
I also use "GoBar" for my Launcher. Most likely they have a conflict.
Hoping that the new up comming version of GoBar will fix this.

Similar products offered for lower cost |
I use DiddleBug with a plugins that give it similar functionality. I can choose from SEVERAL geometric shapes, pen types and ink styles. I can also quickly set alarms for a few minutes or several days away. And DiddleBug is free!

With reservations |
I kinda do the same thing with TodDoPlus.
I keep a default category of QuickNotes and use shortcuts for date time on todo task and tap the drawing icon.
I can set alarms. Plus it can show in my datebook.
For the price, doesn't make sense to have both.

Crap! |
I didn't want to vote at all...just make a comment...so I didn't select Yes or No...but apparently we default to No...so this Yes should cancel that out.
Sorry.

Depends on what you want! |
I can tell you that your art concerns (which were some of mine) are on their list of improvements. But I didn't get this app for graphics but for it's speed and messaging ability. Plus add the upcoming EyeModule support and that is a powerful tool.
Currently if you want a drawing program...you may not want this...but if you want a great messaging tool with the ability to annotate...this is it. I loved having the ability to send images to or from my Visor...including screen shots...that I could add notes to.

WHAT'S MISSING |
It's an age-old question: "What's so tough about..." and , in this case, it's the geometric line shape feature. They couldn't add that? I had Diddlebug on by VDX and, it didn't have the messenger ability, but, MAN, every pen and brush type, large or small erasers, geometric shape features, shading. Okay, sure, that's an art feature and I guess BugMe! isn't "that" but hell, why not?? It's missing features that should NOT be a problem to add. Sad.

Not because it's bad, but... |
I found some of the same problems with BugMe! when I first tried it about 6 months ago. I still prefer QPaint (and QDraw for vector-sutff - they work together well) because it has far better tools for the writing.
BugMe! has some great features - but if you really just want something to draw/take notes with, and don't mind not having the alarm feature, QPaint is much nicer. And it's "free".
