broke after a few uses
failed to charge/hold charge after about a week of use. Great idea... cheap inside = PRODUCT FAIL. Too bad thinkgeek didn't do a better job explaining to the Chinese company that produced this for them that it would actually be helpful if it worked.

LiPo Battery fail
Worked ok for a day or so. Now the LiPo battery won't hold a charge. It is just an ear bud hacked to fit a handset. Maybe I can hack the hack to hold a few Nmh cells. Bottom line... it is not ready for daily use!

Too Fragile
Awesome attention getter, and I had good quality talking and listening on mine, BUT, the plug in to recharge promptly broke apart, although I gingerly kept taking the mouthpiece off to get to plug in the charging cord, it eventually fell apart and became useless.

too limited
Bluetooth versions outdated (of course!) and only one cell works with the cool retro handsets?

Great Gear !
I have had one of these since they came out simple to operate once you understand that there is only one "switch" which is a button and a flashing light sequence which showes you what mode you are in,but there is more there IS a volume control with 2 buttons ,yep....one mor + one for - volume, great fun and yes it works very well, and more if you have voice recognition on your mobile you can make calls via bluetooth and your retrophone, buy one goof un and it works is well made and wont break ! Cool idea but 2 cans and a string are clearer
The bluetooth version of this phone is a neat idea and it has great shock value, *However* while the sound coming out of the headset is clear on my end, my friends complain that they heard echos of themselves or I sound extremely muffled to them. As mentioned earlier in these reviews stuffing cotton balls into the reciever did NOTHING to help the clarity of the call. This was 6 jumbo cotton balls later. I would get the wired version and skip the bluetooth version. 2 out of 5 stars. Not a total tird, but pretty close.

A sturdy, fun and functional piece of hardware.
This sturdy handset makes it easier to hear with an ear conforming comfortable (on many levels) piece of nostalgia.

Great Phone!!!!
I have a Samsung cell phone and linking to it was a breeze. The only two things I would recommend to make this phone even that much better would be a volume control built in to the handset and get rid of the pointy back make it flat it would be easier to cradle on your shoulder. As far as the phone itself its excellent and its very clear. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants to go retro. But my two suggestions would improve it that much more and then Ill buy the new version of it.

Good concept poor performance
I originally purchased this bluetooth handset because I thought it was a neat idea and I like the idea of being able to have a phone handset up against my head for the sole purpose of freaking people out while I'm having a real live conversation. What I received was a very cool looking handset that paired easily with just about every phone I've tried. The downside here is that while I was able to hear people who where calling me clearly, they where receiving a echo of themselves and poor voice quality from me. I'll give the idea 5 stars, but the ultimate engineering and execution is 2 stars. One star for decent battery life and one star because I was able to hear the folks I was calling.
