Even in this lengthy review, there are plenty of features of TeleNav GPS Navigator I haven't covered. Visit this page of their site and check out the Flash demo to get a feel of what it's like to use this innovative software.
I was impressed by TeleNav's data compression routines and how smoothly the software worked. Running it on my Sprint 700p on its fast EVDO data connection and my 650 on its slower 1xRTT connection side by side (with two separate GPS receivers, one for each Treo), I barely noticed a difference in the behavior or speed of the program, whether it was pulling down and scrolling maps as I drove, or getting the correct voice prompting for upcoming turns, even re-routing when I took wrong turns on purpose, the performance on the two phones was nearly identical, thanks to the advanced compression techniques TeleNav uses for mapping and voice data.
When you mull over the fact that you can pay for TeleNav a month at a time, and bail out of it any time you want to (unless you commit to the three-month subscription bundled with the GPS receiver) you have very little to lose and a lot to gain by giving it a test drive. TeleNav GPS Navigator is simply an awesome product.
